Monday Morning Session!

We kicked off our morning session with a little worship...

During our next few sessions we're going to be looking at the 3 parts of story - The beginning, the middle and the end. Since we all know every story (or movie) contains conflict, Brett explained the 3 parts of the story with the first part being what BRINGS you up to the conflict, the second part IS the conflict and the third part is the RESOLUTION of the conflict.

To illustrate this, Brett took us to Genesis 37:1-35 where we looked at the beginning of Joseph's story...(Take a minute to check it out yourself!)

Two things that will matter in your story:

• What you chase after (talked about last night)
• How you handle conflict

 Brett pointed out that RIGHT NOW is the time to decide what you're going to do when conflict is walking right towards you. Since how you deal with conflict is directly related to your foundation, if your foundation isn't built on Jesus NOW then when conflict inevitably comes, you'll run...It's all about preparing yourself NOW.

A few questions we're discussing in our small groups this morning:

1. What are some of the conflicts Joseph went through in the beginning of his life?
2. How would YOU have responded to these conflicts?
3. Today, if your world came crashing down (not b/c of sin), how would you handle that conflict?
4. Check out James 1:2-4 - Do we see conflict (again, not b/c of sin or poor choices) as part of making us "perfect and complete, needing nothing?"
5. How can we be like Joseph and approach conflict or troubles without complaining or wandering away from God and HIS plan/purpose?
