Hello hello!! Hope all is well back home! We're all good here! Sorry it's taken us a while to get our internet up...But all things considered, I think we're all just thankful we had power and heat through the night!!
Wow! This was one crazy snowstorm we had come through! Made the bus ride a little long yesterday, but we made it here...(Or at least as close to "here" as the busses could get us! They couldn't come down the dirt road so we had to have the leaders with cars shuttle all the students then all their luggage down the 2 mile dirt/snow/slush road! It was crazy! Took well over two hours!)
So yeah, wanna learn how to be flexible and go with the flow?? Come to Winter Camp in the middle of a southern blizzard!
Well, we all got here, had some pizza and then the teams all got together to make team flags for the weekend...
At our first session we got to meet each of our teams...
The 8 Ballers
Yellow Snow
Viva la Verde
Red Pirates
Grey Wolf
The Blue Crew
Chocolate Thunder
Pink 182
OJ
Purple Panthers
Our first session was great! We're so blessed to have an awesome band leading us in worship and our speaker, Chris Lotz, bringing us messages directly from God's Word!
We had a game we were gonna play outside late last night, but in light of recent events we decided it would be more appropriate just to play in the much anticipated snow!!
It was a pretty late night getting started and even later when we started winding down so we decided it would be fun to let everyone sleep in this morning and have breakfast at 9:30...So if everyone cheered last night when we announced it, why in the world did they all insist on getting at 7:00 this morning!?!? Craziness!!
So this morning we had a fabulous breakfast burritos, headed out for our quiet time and then met up all together for our second session...
Ready for a little team challenge action?? We call this one "Fish Face" - One guy and one girl from each team partnered up for this one...The girls stood behind the guys, spread peanut butter all over the guys' faces and then attempted to stick as many goldfish crackers on their faces...Yeah, I don't really care to smell peanut butter for a while now!
Out for the afternoon!! Catch ya tonight if the internet holds up!!
