Wow. I just signed on to post some cool pictures from the day so far and tell you all how much fun we're having, but all that just seems to pale in comparison to the amazing presence of God we've all just experienced through worship...It never ceases to amaze me in those times when I know I'm totally focused on taking care of all the details that God can bring me to my knees through a simple song and remind me of his strength and power and speak directly to my heart. I'm really just at a loss right now, but so thankful that the presence of God is incredibly evident here in this room.
Okay, now! On to some pictures from the day!
After lunch at good ol' Micky D's and Wendy's we arrived at camp right about noon. We really lucked up on our cabin assignment and are staying in a brand new cabin here on campus...It's SO SO nice!!
We all unloaded the vans, settled in and headed out for an afternoon of free time! Being that it IS summertime, several of us decided the pool should be the spot to hang out...But don't go jumping in too quickly now, there are lots of rules at this pool! I won't bore you with the details, but if you really want to hear all about them just ask Chandler! Our rule-following 7th grader was sure to stop and read every single rule before diving in! (Oh wait...Rule #783 - No diving!)
Anyways...A few fun pictures of some of ourboys men seeing how far they could throw Sarah & Sharayah!
To kick off our first session we've gave each team a couple minutes to come up with their team name...Can't you just see the gears turning??
And after much thought they came up with The Blue Bandits, The Yellow Wolverines, The Three G Mafia and The Red Hotssss!
From there we kicked off with our first competition of camp...The Rubiks Cube Challenge! Man was I impressed! These boys were GOOD!! I had no idea anyone I actually KNEW could do one of those crazy things!!

It was a pretty tight race but Daniel finished first, followed by Chad and then Adam...(Brett would've been next, but well...)
Now, I'm going to go ahead and warn you...If you happen to have a weak stomach, you may want to skip these next pictures...Unless you don't mind seeing innocent students drinking a soda through a sweaty sock for a few team points!! You heard me right! It's "Grosser Than Gross"!! A JSM Summer Camp original challenge! Think you can handle anything?? Go ahead and come on up to win some major bonus points for your team!
And now for the action shots!
We knew the guys, Adam & Trey could handle it, but we were some kind of proud of Jennifer & Haley! They didn't HAVE to drink the entire can, but four of them did! Way to go! Way to be Grosser than Gross!!
Well, we're off to play "Name That Tune!" More to come later!!
